Pre-Reading for Unit 18-A Strong little boy
-Completed the various section of the unit: vocabulary, understanding cause and effect, understanding word groups,discussion about experiences with various types of rescues.
-Introduced Present continuous activity. Hot potato version, when the music stopped, students picked up a card with an image and action. Students then had to state a sentence with present continuous such as “She is painting a picture.”
- Students practiced identifying topic from a list of familiar words.
-Students answered specific questions about the story A strong little boy. Examples of specific questions: Was it a cold day in January or a warm day in May? Who pulled Jimmy out of the water, his father or firefighters?
