Introductory class

  • Students created an identity map. In the center of their paper was their home country. Students either wrote, drew or did both to identify 4 items pertaining to their country: music, food, best place to visit, and anything else interesting they would like to share. Many of the students chose to share the flowers of their country. 


  • As students shared about their countries, we took the opportunity to locate their country / city on the class map.Compared locationality from one country to another, looked up images of the food items shared via technology, and listened to various styles of music. 


  • Student were given opportunities to dialogue and ask clarifying questions with their peers.
