Opening conversation: describe the indigenous people of your native country.

We then read chapter 6, the subject of which was Native Americans. We then practiced our learning objective for the term by sharing opinions on the following: Was it the right decision for professional sports teams to change their mascots, abandoning terms that some deem to be offensive? 

In preparation for chapter 7, we shared our opinions on racial, ethnic, and religious diversity. Why is it good? What are the challenges?

We then began reading chapter 7, finishing with the top paragraph on p. 18.
