Thursday, October 31 - AM Advanced

We had candles and spooky music for class today; it’s Halloween! Opening discussion: Have you ever experienced anything supernatural? Ghosts, spirits, demons, angels, gods, God? One student explained how her daughter has had repeated encounters with departed spirits, many of whom are seeking the daughter’s help with finding lost loved ones. 

We then read my horror short story, “The Campsite.” 

We listened to our second Halloween song, “The Curse of Millhaven,” by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. This song required a lot of unpacking. The song has lots of lyrics and introduced students to some new words.
