Thursday, October 17 - AM Fluency

Today we began a unit on the Vietnam War. We began the class with students sharing what they already knew about the Vietnam War. We then began reading an article on the subject, published by the History Channel.

Along the way, we practiced one of our learning objectives: identifying organizational structures.

It was then time for Vivian to give her presentation: “The Vegan Lifestyle.” We learned about Vivian’s reasons for becoming vegan, the benefits of being vegan, and the challenges of being vegan. Vivian also introduced to us some vegan restaurants that she recommends. 

We took notes on Vivian’s presentation, thus practicing our second learning objective. 

We then returned to the article on the Vietnam War and concluded class by listening to a Vietnam War protest song: “Lyndon Johnson Told the Nation,” by Tom Paxton.
