Reviewed parts of a story:  characters, setting, plot, and conflict

Read chapter 1.  Students read and then I read or vice versa.  We identified irregular past tense verbs and discussed unknown vocabulary.

Identified characters, setting, and conflict.  Who is the mystery man?  

In small groups, students wrote a summary of the plot in chapter 1.
