New students: Why do you want to take English classes?

Returning: What is one fun thing you did over the Summer? 

Introduce Reflect 2 - talk about the title of the unit: Welcome to the Neighborhood - what does this mean?

Identify everything you see in the picture. I write on board.

Read the “In this Unit” and “Skills” sections. Any questions?

Answer questions on bottom of pg 3 - Think, pair, share

Introduce Vocab: Dictate the vocab for them at the boards

I read the sentence in the teacher guide next to the word. What does this word mean? 

If there are ones that are difficult, ask the question in the TG so they can talk about it.
