Reflect 2 Unit 2 pgs 26-27

Prep: print off the teacher guide for Unit 2

Warm up: Put this question on the board and have them ask the people at their table: Who is the most confident sibling in your family? 

(This was a vocab word from a couple weeks ago. You might have to remind them that this word is not confidant (Sp. and Port. translate this) but rather the opposite of shy.)

See if the students can give explanations for their answer. 

Tell them today you’re going to introduce the vocabulary that they will hear in the next audio (next week).

Have the students close their books, stand up and go to a board.

Dictate the vocabulary on pg 26 for the students while they each try to spell the word on the board. Correct their spelling as you go.

Go over the meanings of each one. Do they already know the meanings?

Use the teacher guide pg 12 definitions and questions if they need more help understanding. 

Have them complete A in their books (p26) filling in the right word.

Go over answers

*Skip doing B.

Introduce the phrase “sibling rivalry” to them: it’s like a competition or arguments

Have them complete the rivalry quiz on pg 27. 

D. If you can’t play the audio, then just tell them the answers are: 1 b, 2 a, 3 c

Have them discuss which fact was most surprising. 

If more time, have them, in partners, ask each other the questions in the Reflect box at the bottom of pg 27
