Wednesday, January 24 - PM Intermediate
Only 5 SS in attendance, so I split them into 2 and 3.
I attempted to review the vocab we learned last week, as it was used again in tonight’s lesson - Same Word, Different meaning (page 48).
The SS appeared to have forgotten everything and seemed reluctant to speak to their partner.
I asked the SS to take turns reading the “new” meanings and give an example by writing a sentence. This wasn’t too successful so I felt the need to give them real life examples. I probably talked too much…
The exercise Words in Sentences was much better. The SS made a few mistakes, but not bad.
I explained what collocations are and had the SS complete the exercise (page 49). They did reasonably well completing the sentences, but when I asked them to write a couple of their own sentences they struggled.
